Mayor Harold E. McNeill
Mayor McNeill was first elected to City Council in 1996 to represent District 7. In 2000 he was elected Mayor of Abbeville, and he was re-elected in 2004 for a second term as mayor. Mayor McNeill's current term expires in 2008. |

We hope that as you visit our lovely city you will enjoy the quality of life that we offer. Furthermore, we would invite you to become part of this fine community. Abbeville is an historic and pleasant community offering a unique opportunity to operate a business or industry, to raise a family, or to relax and retire. If you are planning a visit to Abbeville, or are considering moving here to become a part of our fine community and would like more information, please contact our offices at City Hall at (864) 459-2109.
I would also like to invite the members of the community to attend City Council meetings. The City Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located on the second floor of the Opera House at 100 Court Square.

Council Member Spencer Sorrow
District 8
Council Member Sorrow was first elected to City Council in 1986 to represent District 8. He was re-elected in 2004 to serve his seventh term on City Council. His current term expires in 2008. Council Member Sorrow has also previously served as the Mayor Pro Tem. |

Council Member Gus Wilson
District 1
Council Member Wilson was elected to his first term as the City Council representative from District 1 in 1992. He was re-elected in 2006 to serve his fifth term on City Council. His current term will expire in 2010. Council Member Wilson has also previously served as the Mayor Pro Tem. |

Council Member Faye Thomas
District 2
Council Member Faye Thomas is the newest member elected to serve on City Council. She was elected to represent District 2 in 2004. Her current term will expire in 2008. |

Council Member Lee Williams
District 3
Council Member Williams was first elected to City Council in 1989 to represent District 3. He was re-elected in 2006 to serve his seventh term on City Council. His current term expires in 2010. |

Council Member Bertha Crawford
District 4
Council Member Crawford was first elected to City Council in 2002 to represent District 4. She was re-elected in 2006 to a second term. Council Member Crawford's current term on Council will expire in 2010. |

Council Member Delano Freeman
District 5
Council Member Freeman was elected in 2000 to his first term on City Council as the representative from District 5. He was elected to a second term in 2004. Council Member Freeman's current term will expire in 2008. |

Council Member Fred Peeler
District 6
Council Member Peeler was originally elected to City Council in 1989 to represent District 6 and served until 1990. He was again elected to City Council in 1994 and has been re-elected three times. Now in his fifth term serving District 6, Council Member Peeler's current term will expire in 2010. |

Council Member Joe Seawright
District 7
Council Member Seawright was first elected to serve on City Council in 1990, and represented District 7 until 1996. In 2000 he was elected to again serve on City Council, and was re-elected in 2004. His current term will expire in 2008. |
