The City of Abbeville is seeking a Director of Public Utilities to manage all phases of the City’s combined utility department, which includes: administration, electric generation and distribution, water treatment and distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment. The current Director of Public Utilities is retiring after 17 years of service to the City.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and experience in management, planning, and oversight of utilities operations. Experience with capital projects planning and management is preferred. A master’s degree and background in engineering is preferred. The Director of Public Utilities reports directly to the City Manager, and is a part of the City’s management team. Salary based upon qualifications.
